Economy:

   Called one of the breakbasket 

   colonies, because they grew an

   abundance of wheat. A farm was

   about 50-150 acres that included

   a house, yard, barn, and fields.

Trade/Exports:

   Iron ore, lumber, corn, wheat,

   textiles, ships, livestock, and fur.

   They ground the wheat into flour and sent it to

   England.

Geography:

   lowland and mountains.

   Fertile soil that is good for farming.

Major Industries:

   Natural and Agricultural produces like indigo, wheat,

   grain, and rice.
Climate:

   Warm summers and cold winters good for but good for

   farming.

Celebrity/Important Residents:

   Aaron Burr, Meryl Streep, and James W. Marshall
